The simple definition of "EVP's" Electronic Voice
Phenomenon is the accusal attempt to capture, with an
audio tape or now a days a digital recording device the
sounds or voice of a ghost or spirit. Often no voice is
heard by people at the time of the recordings, but later
after reviewing carefully the recordings, there are
strange voices or sounds heard.
The first documented case of an EVP took place in
Sweden in 1959. At the time of the recordings, Mr. F.
Jurgenson was alone recording birds singing in the
countryside. When he returned home and played back
the tape he discovered he had recorded a man's voice
speaking in Norwegian. There was no one present
other than himself at the time of the recordings. Since
then, paranormal groups, ghost hunters and others
have tried their hand at recording this type of
phenomena.
